Asleep

Long drunken nights
You call you're new fling
Thinking it's something
You tell him a few thousand things
he laughs
Smiles on the other side

Bored to sleep
What a way to dream
Eyes wide open
He waits to make sure
He listens carefully
Maybe she'll snore

He lights another cigarette
Takes another swig
She's entering the void
Hoping to hear his voice
He awaits
In silence

She wants to see him
He wants to see her
She's merely talking out of intoxication
He's lost in meditation
It's nice to have company
Someone to share the deprivation

He doesn't mind
He's wondering what she's thinking
Imagining the world
From a different perspective
He loves it
He wants more

He wants to hold her
To cuddle, to kiss
But she's not herself
And he won't do that
He holds on to the thought
Of what might just be..

Holidays

A time for joy
A time for laughter
A time for hoodies
A time for tears
A time to break free
From all your fears

Time to let loose
And cuddle by a bonfire
A time to look up at the night sky
No bugs around
Just you and your loved one
A time of peace

No time to fight
This time of year calls for work
Hard work
All over the world
No time for breaks
Until the end of the day

Music keeps you sane
Ideas seem plain
Actions become louder
Words become obsolete
Hug them tighter
Kiss them longer

Enjoy your time
It could be your last
Until next year
You never know
If you'll still be around
To see it all again

Watch longer
Play harder
Act stronger
Hold your hands up
Until your arms are numb
It's the holiday fun!
